U2 at Fordham? We Think So!

keatinghall1

The building in the photo is Keating Hall, home of the WFUV studios at Fordham University in the Bronx.  We’re hearing and the Hartford Courant is reporting this:

It was all very hush-hush, except that these things always leak: U2, in New York March 2-6 for a week-long stand on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” caps its stint in the Big Apple with a “secret” performance Friday, March 6, at Fordham University.

Don’t go canceling your Friday plans, though: a Sound Check source reports that it’s a Fordham-only show, and says it’ll require a university ID (a Fordham ID in your name, that is) to get anywhere near campus that day.

Professors have reportedly been told by the administration to cancel morning classes “for security reasons.” The band is expected to play at Fordham after appearing on “Good Morning America.”

U2’s new album, “No Line on the Horizon,” comes out Tuesday.

We’ll be saluting the band throughout the day on Tuesday, the day that new album is released — and if they’re coming to our house on Friday, we’ll be there to bring you all the excitement.  Stay tuned for all the details on 90.7FM and www.wfuv.org.

    Hi Dennis
Just heard you annouce the big (yet to be confirmed) news on U2 appearing at Fordham.
Only for Fordham? I’m sooo jealous but happy for all you and lucky student/staff!!
Any chance WFUV would offer their members passes to get in? I’m trying for standby Letterman tickets next week.
Also, soooo pyched to hear U2 Tuesday!

Can i make a song request? God Part II from Rattle & Hum becz it’s never played on radio.
and one more favor…can it be played between 3pm – 7pm (or 4-6 during your show?)

WFUV rules, thanks for infusing my life with new bands and sounds – at 43 i’m happy to report that music is once again is a big part of my life.
    Best Regards, S

Will Fordham alums be allowed in? My friends and I just graduated in May, and we have Alumnai passes.
    Thanks!

It’s false that morning classes are going to be canceled. Here’s what’s canceled:

“All classes are canceled during the F (8:30–9:45) and M (8:30–9:20) blocks. In addition, classes in Keating (only) are canceled during the N (9:30–10:20) block.”

Congrats FUV you’ve earned it. Gotta figure they’ve got something up their sleeves for Friday night as well. Maybe a gig in DC for Barack…and to get the “No Line at the Verizon” pun out of the way

Enjoy this grand gift of having U2 at your home!
My daughter Sidney will be on the first row!

Whoa! Great sets from U2. Had the tv and the radio on. And kudos on staying with the band when tv had to cut away. Is Claudia’s show going to be archived on the web somewhere at some point?
