I will probably be in a distinct minority, but for helping to keep America safe after 9/11, I suggest I Thank You by Sam and Dave.

    Good morning,

Ohhhh – so many ways to go with the Dick Cheney songs – but let’s just try a couple:

Norah Jone’s version of Cold, Cold Heart comes to mind.

Adele: Melt My Heart to Stone?

    Zee Avi: Bitter Heart

OK – I could keep going on this cold hearted theme – but I’ll stop there.

Hope I don’t get stuck in a meeting and miss the set this morning.

P.S. I only wish I could think of a song about penguins since he always reminds me of The Penguin from Batman

  7. Sharon on February 23rd, 2010

What better song than “Sympathy for the Devil” by the Rolling Stones?

  8. Chris on February 23rd, 2010

    How Long – Kenny White

  9. Bill on February 23rd, 2010

I suggest The Gin Blossoms “Till I hear it from You” The line that says “I don’t want to take advice from Fools” describes Vice President Dick Cheney Perfectly .

  10. Pat on February 23rd, 2010

Send Lawyers Guns and Money – Warren Zevon

  11. Bob on February 23rd, 2010

Prince of Darkness the Indigo Girls

The question is who does Dick Chaney think he is right?

  15. Steve on February 23rd, 2010

What an awful thought to wake up to! (and i’m not even a Democrat)
But the perfect song popped right into my head, with no thought at all, just like our beoved ex-vice president.

“Something is not Right With Me,” Cold War Kids

    Have a sane day!

  16. mary on February 23rd, 2010

    “Creep” (Radiohead)

Although that would require a level of self-awareness that he’s probably incapable of. Maybe if the hospital doses him with something that strips away some of his self-delusions….

  17. Steve on February 23rd, 2010

a timely ? of the day as Dick Cheney was in the midst of his “Legacy Tour” (thanks, Bill Mahr) on the Sunday Morning talk shows…accidently shot a friend while hunting (where?) and walked!!- what if it was one of us?…(how coincidental that former Secretary of State Alexander Haig also recently hospitalized: remember his “I’m in charge here!” following attempted Reagan assassination and subsequent hospitalization?)…”Powderfinger”- perhaps the mellow version as sung by Margo Timmins of Cowboy Junkies? (since you already intro’d this topic with Neil Young’s “Only Love Can break your Heart”)…

  18. Rene on February 23rd, 2010

Being of an age to be eligible for the draft at the beginning of the Vietnam War, I can’t think of a better song for Dick Cheney and his 6 deferments would be “Draft Dodger Rag” by Phil Ochs.
